The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.
The Council approved hiring Joyce Richardson as the City Utility Clerk for $13.92 per hour with an effective date of Wednesday. The Council also approved a Federal Aviation Administration grant of $298,043 for the construction of the runway extension project for the airport, along with the final pay estimate of $26,882 to Concrete Technologies Incorporated and a $42,121 reduction change order for the road relocation project for 243rd Street for the airport. Additionally, the Council approved Concrete Technologies for the $1.4 million contract for the runway extension project.
The Council also approved the first pay estimate of $119,484 to Keller Excavating for the Chestnut water main replacement project, along with a first pay estimate of $135,226 to Caliber Construction for work done on the four shared use paths through July 31st and a third pay estimate of $40,968 to Westbrooke Construction Company for the roof replacement project at 100 East State Street. The Council approved a construction change directive to the roof replacement project to allow Westbrooke Construction to continue the project knowing that a change order would eventually be brought before the Council.
Next, the Council approved a professional services contract with Atura Architecture for $39,000 for the design and contract documentation preparation for the Greene County Animal Shelter, the third and final reading of adding a noise control ordinance, and scheduled September 22nd Council meeting for the priority budget workshop. Finally, the Council reviewed the fourth quarter financials as presented.
