The Raccoon River Conference has officially added two new members of the conference with the addition of the Gilbert Tigers and the North Polk Comets. Those two schools will join a tough conference already in all sports, and both schools sizes trend similarly to the rest of the conference as well. They join an already great conference for multiple sports, as the conference goes from its eight members up to ten. There will be some extra travel for an ADM team, with Gilbert north of Ames and North Polk north of the Des Moines metro.

That said it will be good for some of the northern schools like Bondurant and Carroll, who have some more proximity to some of their conference games. The Tigers will be looking at two schools that will make this conference even tougher, which is obviously good to get Tiger teams prepared for district and state in their respective sports.

This is a conference that has seen some turnover through decades, but right now the Raccoon River Conference has ten really good schools and the games between these schools will be expected to be extremely competitive as always for years to come.
