For an Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tiger athlete, one of the most important things will be the individuals ability to stay in shape over this unique time frame. Since mid-March, there has been limited school activities outside of baseball and softball for the ADM school district and others thorough out the state of Iowa as well.
Now if athletes played baseball and softball, there will be some kind of expectation and players will probably be in decent shape for conditioning. For ones that didn’t, they did have some summer workouts throughout the month of July, though it had to be shut down for a few days due to Coronavirus concerns.
A lot of athletes have been working out from home as the strength and conditioning staff has been doing everything that they can to check in on the athletes and make sure that they’re doing workouts correctly. Ultimately though, it was the honor system for many workouts between coaches and athletes of whether they got the workout completed or not.
Typically ADM athletes have been honest and upfront with coaches through out the process, and been getting the workouts done. Most athletes will be in good shape for their fall activities, but if they aren’t and said that they’ve done the workouts, they might have some explaining to do to coaches and teammates.
