The former Grand Junction fire chief has pled guilty to driving an ambulance drunk.
According to court documents, 40-year-old Thomas Launderville has been found guilty of his second offense for an OWI, based on evidence of minutes. Court documents show Launderville waived his right to a trial by jury and wanted to be judged by the evidence of minutes, which the court ultimately found him guilty of the offense. The evidence of minutes was based on the trial information originally filed by the Greene County Attorney’s Office.
The charge stemmed from an incident on November 9, 2019. Launderville was responding to a medical call in Grand Junction and drove the rescue ambulance. Following the call, Launderville did a breath test and his blood-alcohol level was .21-percent. Launderville was terminated from the fire department shortly after.
His sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 27th. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
