The West Central Valley Wildcat cross country teams are expecting to face an interesting challenge for the fall 2020 season. Obviously with the coronavirus, meets for the season could potentially look different, though usually athletes should be able to socially distance for themselves. The Wildcats will also be keeping an eye on how their schedule will look, and if there will be a shortened season or not.
The biggest things that the Wildcat teams will be focused on will be improving their times throughout the season, treating practices like the meets, and finding ways to be the best runner that they can be. Both the boys and girls teams did not finish in the upper half of their sectional meets last year, and will have a lot of young runners that might lack experience this year as well.
That said, the most important thing for these Wildcat teams is enjoying the beauty of the sport of cross-country, and will get ready for their first practice of the season this upcoming Monday.
