
Heavy rains and nickel sized hail have been reported as a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for southwestern Greene and northern Guthrie counties Thursday morning.
The warning was issued as a radar-indicated storm was spotted over Coon Rapids moving east at 30 miles per hour at about 11:11 a.m. Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Deputy Coordinator Jeremy Cooper confirmed nickel-sized hail near the intersection of Highways 25 and 141. The storm weakened below severe limits and was cancelled at 11:43 a.m. Two members of the Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team brought live coverage of the storm.
