The Perry Community School District is asking families to register their children for either on-site or remote learning by next week.

Over the summer the district has put together plans for students to return to on-site learning in the fall. Families with health concerns or don’t feel comfortable attending classes on campus can elect to continue learning online. Superintendent Clark Wicks and school administrators emphasize that online learning will be much different than the optional remote learning plan from last spring. The expectations for remote learning are consistent with those who will be attending on-site. The district is also asking parents to deeply consider their options as they ask those that select online learning to commit the entire semester to maintain routine and consistency.

At the recent special School Board Meeting Elementary Associate Principal Ryan Marzen said, “We don’t want to go into the, ‘I’m going to go online for two weeks, then on-site for two weeks, then go back to online for two weeks, and go back on site.’ There would be some flexibility with that. However, if one were committing to that online option, hopefully that is the path they want to go through.”

The District is requiring parents to register their children by Monday, August 3rd. You can register here.
