When Matt Paulsen moved up from being an assistant baseball coach at Greene County High School to the head position, he could not have imagined a first season filled with uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was well into May before having any kind of baseball and softball seasons in Iowa was approved. Practice began June 1 with the first game on June 15. The Rams went 0-7 to start the season before ending 3-12.

Coach Paulsen talks about the experience he had. “I knew I was going to learn a lot going into this season, but I couldn’t have imagined what all I did learn. We knew going into the season we were going to have talent. It was a matter of getting everything to fall our way and for us to put the pieces together that we needed to, and to be able to have some success at the end of the season.”
