The United State Department of Commerce has awarded the City of Perry a seven-figure grant.

The Economic Development Administration announced Thursday that Perry will be receiving a $1.2 million grant for critical roadway infrastructure improvements. This grant is designed to make Perry more accessible for new and current businesses. The grant will be matched with $884,703 in state funds and $355,535 in local funds. The EDA hopes this will create or retain 160 jobs in Perry, while generating $2.8 million in private investment.
