New Opportunities of Greene County is continuing a donation drive for school supplies.
Coordinator Teresa Lansman says Greene County families can sign up now for the Back to School Supply Drive. Unlike in past years, Lansman says with COVID-19 concerns, registrations are now being done online to limit face-to-face interaction.
“Our form is on SurveyMonkey. And they can just go on there, type in their name, their child’s name, and then it generates right to us, and that’s how we’re having many of the families sign up. I haven’t heard anybody that has complained about it. So it has been an amazing opportunity to try something different to make it more convenient for the families.”
Lansman points out the registration deadline is August 7th and about 234 children were served last year. Anyone can donate school supplies such as pencils, folders, and glue sticks to Jefferson Telecom or Greene County New Opportunities. Items must be donated by August 14th.
