Work continues on the remodel of the Raccoon Valley Radio studio in Perry.
General Manager John McGee says the contractors have been working on the internal wiring of the building. Work will also begin on the exterior as the construction crew will start putting on new siding over the next few days.
McGee says he hopes the project will be completed sometime this fall and the work being done now will be beneficial for the community, “One of the great things about this facility that we’re putting together is it is going to be a lot more public-friendly. We have newsmakers come in for interviews. Our Severe Weather Action Team, obviously a lot of the technology we’re putting in there will enable us to do that service even more better, even more reliably than we’ve been able to do to this point. It just gives us a lot more flexibility, a lot more opportunities to serve the public, and a lot more preparedness for the future.”
McGee says going forward construction should not interfere with service or the radio signal.
