Wednesday, July 22nd

12:32am: A male reported his cell phone as stolen. It was later determined the theft occurred in Greene County, outside of Jefferson and the case was turned over to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

8:04am: An anonymous male reported a loose German Shepherd near the intersection of South Walnut Street and West South Street. An officer traveled to the area but was unable to locate the animal.

9:34am: Jennifer Ashby reported her neighbor shot at her cat in the 100 Block of East Central Street. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the neighbor, Scott Halligan, had lit a firecracker once the cat crossed onto his property to scare the animal away. Jennifer confronted Scott and broke the passenger window and taillights on his 2000 Chevy Silverado pickup, using a hammer, causing an estimated $750 in damages to the vehicle. Jennifer was subsequently arrested for Criminal Mischief, Harassment, and Trespassing. A warning was issued to Scott for using fireworks within City Limits and to Jennifer for Animal at Large.

11:23am: Curtis Burkhart reported a fight in the 200 block of West Adams Street. Officers arrived and arrested James Pena and Christopher Lindaman for Assault.

1:57pm: Dave McQuillen reported two juveniles on skateboards in the roadway in the 700 block of North Elm Street. An officer investigated but did not locate any juveniles on skateboards in the roadway.

4:00pm: Jaimie Godwin reported a theft of a check valued at $1200 dollars from his residence in the 400 block of East State Street. An officer is investigating.

10:38pm: Amy Lawton reported fireworks in the 1100 block of North Maple Street. An officer spoke with people shooting the fireworks and requested they stop.

Thursday, July 23rd

6:28am: Julie Mulder requested assistance with entering her locked home at 1301 North Elm Street.

6:45am: Nathan Biggart reported being harassed by Lance Ross.

8:36am: Karen Parker reported a dog at large in the 600 block of South Maple Street.

8:44am: An officer was advised of a loose dog in the 300 block of Rushview Drive.

9:03am: Carter Fetters reported receiving a harassing voicemail.

9:08am: An officer was advised of a loose dog in the 900 block of East State Street.

1:47pm: Tyler Hankel spoke with an officer about an individual driving his vehicle without his permission.

2:00pm: Paula Upton reported being harassed by Anthony Linan.

3:04pm:Officers responded to the 100 block of West Madison Street for a medical call.

4:00pm: Joshua Ballard reported being harassed at his residence at 207 West Adams Street.

5:41pm: Officers transported a patient from the 300 block of North Chestnut Street to the Greene County Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment.

5:59pm: Brittany Smith was arrested at 304 North Chestnut Street for an active Greene County Arrest Warrant for Interference with Official Acts.

6:23pm: Jerry Kelley reported several people trying to make entry into his home at 803 South Chestnut Street during the early morning hours of July 23rd, 2020.

9:23pm: Mike Richards reported an individual peeping into the bathroom window of his residence at 1109 McDuffie Drive. An officer is investigating.

10:36pm: An anonymous caller advised of two people verbally fighting at 505 North High Street.
