As some states are seeing more cases of COVID-19 overwhelm hospitals and using up personal protective equipment for healthcare workers, Greene County continues to be in a stable position.
Greene County Medical Center Materials Manager Dannelle McDowell says they continue to be in good supply of PPE items for their staff.
“We implemented the PPE conservation measures early on. That’s put us in a really good position with all of our supplies for masks, gowns, gloves, face shields and so on for employees.”
McDowell points out they still need homemade cloth mask donations from the public to give to patients who come to the medical center and employees who are not directly involved in patient care areas. She says directions for making the specifically requested masks can be found on the medical center’s website and donations can be dropped off on the north entry door to her department on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3pm.
Greene County Public Health reports there have been only two hospitalizations for the virus, and according to the state dashboard as of Wednesday, Greene County has 37 positive cases for a 3.4-percent positive rate of 1,076 people that have been tested.
