With the beginning of the school year around the corner, the Adel First Christian Church is hosting a children’s clothing giveaway.

The event is usually held inside the Adel First Christan Church but in order to social distance, the giveaway will be held in the parking of the church. Dallas County Public Health Information Officer Ann Cochran says it’s one of the few bright spots of the recent pandemic, “There’s actually a few things that have changed due to the COVID pandemic that may work out to be for the better. In Adel there’s the children’s clothing closet that’s typically inside the Adel First Christan Church and they decided to have their annual clothing giveaway for children this year outside to ensure mitigation of the virus.” 

Families can take advantage of this event to help with the costs of clothing prior to the school year. The event is open to anyone from central Iowa, not just Adel, and there are no questions asked. The giveaway will take place Saturday, August 8th in the Adel First Christian Church parking lot, right next to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office along Highway 169.
