Guthrie Center area residents are reminded of ongoing services provided by the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library.

The “Read Around Town” kids activity continues through the end of the month, which Library Director Pat Sleister explains involves walking around several downtown businesses to read a different posted book weekly, “You go from window to window to read the whole book and so when you finish the whole book if you come to the library and answer one simple question you’ll win a prize.”

More information and a map of the participating businesses can be found on their website, and in August kids can stop by the library to pick up a bag of age-appropriate activities. Sleister adds that the library has replaced all the books on their sale rack available for a freewill donation through this month. You can find a link to their website here.
