The Greene County School District has developed a new Ram logo.

Activities Director Todd Gordon says he worked with Jefferson-Scranton High School graduates Michael Reece and Joel Friday on a new logo. Gordon notes the current logo is hard to reproduce for different items. He describes another reason why he felt a new logo would help the district overall.

“One of the things that I still sense here after a year is that we need more unification. Our hashtag this year was ‘together.’ We’re just trying to build more of a unity, more of a team type atmosphere amongst all of us (and) our other communities.”

The Greene County School Board recently approved to trademark the new logo so that if someone wanted to use it, they could but would need the district’s approval.

“Through that, the activities department is also able to get some revenue from that. Because we are self-supporting. We survive on gate receipts, and season tickets, and things like that. We get help with transportation and salaries from the Department of Education, but other than that we are self-funded.”

Gordon adds the new logo will appear on the new gym floors at both the middle and high school buildings. There will be a phased in approach to adding the logo to new uniforms for teams.
