As Guthrie County has seen at least 13 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in the last week, residents are reminded of an opportunity to get tested locally this weekend.
Test Guthrie County, an initiative between Guthrie County Public Health, Guthrie Family Medicine Center, and Guthrie County Hospital and Clinics, is offering PCR and serology tests from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. today and tomorrow at Guthrie County Public Health located at 2002 State Street in Guthrie Center. Test Guthrie County’s goal is to dramatically increase the rate of COVID-19 testing among county residents, to help identify the spread of the virus to help get residents back to a normal way of life as soon as possible. The PCR test is a nasal swab that is designed to detect viral RNA, which shows whether or not someone has the virus early on. The serology test is a blood test designed to identify those who have been previously infected and helps identify immunity. The public must call the Guthrie County COVID Hotline to schedule an appointment for this weekend.
