Severe heat will be impacting the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area today.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the entire state from 1-8 p.m. Saturday. A heat index of up to 108 degrees is expected throughout west central Iowa. The National Weather Service recommends drinking plenty of fluids and staying out of the sun as much as possible. Cloud cover and possible thunderstorms Saturday night should provide some relief for the rest of the weekend.
