Another name has been added to the ballot in the race for Guthrie County Auditor for the November election.

Hans Erickson has announced that he will run for County Auditor on the Democratic ticket, after the Guthrie County Democratic Party unanimously elected Erickson at a special convention on June 30th. Erickson has been a Panora resident since 2011, and is a graduate of Drake University’s College of Business and Public Administration. As an undergrad Erickson interned for the Iowa Governor’s Office and the Office of Senate Research. While working on his master’s degree, Erickson clerked in the Iowa Senate and later ran for the legislature in 2014. He began his career with Iowa Farm Bureau, was recently the deputy finance director for an Iowa Senate campaign and later managed a campaign for U.S. Congress.

Erickson runs against Republican nominee and current County Auditor Dani Fink. The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors appointed Fink from Deputy Auditor to County Auditor this past May, following former County Auditor Marci McClellan’s resignation.
