The top-seeded and #2 ranked team in Class 3A in Iowa, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs will open their District postseason tournament tonight by hosting the Greene County Rams from Jefferson.
DC-G is 14-3 on the season, and has been graced with stellar pitching and nearly flawless defense to back-up the wicked stuff on the mound.
Greene County comes in with just a 3-11 record on the season, and will play as the lowest seed of the District 15 Bracket.
The other game in district play tonight will be in Carroll, as the Tigers host Atlantic. Should the Mustangs win tonight, they would then host the winner of that game on Monday night.
DC-G would need to win tonight, Monday night, and in the Substate final next week to advance to the State Tournament and return to Principal Park in Des Moines.
The trek to Principal Park begins tonight for the Mustangs at 7:00pm with the Greene County Rams in Dallas Center.
