The road to Des Moines starts tonight for the ADM Tigers as they host their first round game at home against the Newton Cardinals. ADM will be hoping to repeat their chances of getting back to the state tournament at Principal Park in Des Moines, after making a surprise run in the tournament last year. This year, ADM will not be in the underdog role in the postseason, being the top seed in their district and one of the top seeds in sectional action as well.

The Tigers and the Cardinals are not very familar with each other with the last matchup between the two schools happening in 2015. ADM will be looking to get a quality pitching start tonight against the one win Cardinals, and will look to tally on some runs early in the game and hope to jump out to a big lead. They also will hope to get some key hits with runners in scoring position, and try to get a comfortable lead early on.
