With a win Wednesday night, the Panorama baseball team is now one step closer to the state tournament.

The Panthers were supposed to play Southeast Valley Tuesday night until Mother Nature had other plans and the game was postponed a day. Once the contest did start, Panorama took control and did not relinquish it. They kept a steady dose of offense scoring three runs in the first, two in the second, one in the third, two in the fourth, and one more in the fifth. Combined with a dominant night on the mound, the Panthers rolled to a 9-0 victory to advance to the district championship game. They’ll face a familiar foe as they’ll square off with #5 Woodward Granger for the third time this season. The Hawks are 2-0 against Panorama with 6-2 and 1-0 wins.

First pitch is set for 7 p.m. Saturday in Granger.
