The Perry Chamber of Commerce is planning an event that puts a new twist on a beloved community event.
Chamber Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio she’s been working with the local merchants group, brainstorming how to support local businesses while keeping the challenges of COVID-19 in mind. Pasutti adds they wanted to mold something after last year’s Sip and Shop event, “Last year the Sip and Shops were very successful. So wanting to do something that helps those local businesses and draws people out, but continues to have safety measures in place. We’re looking at closing down the street so people can overflow from those businesses, so we’re not crowding the shops.”
Pasutti says there’s a couple details that need to be worked out before officially going on the calendar, but she’s already received support from several local businesses. The date in mind is Friday, July 24th.
