The Perry farmers market is off and running for the year, and after just two weeks the Chamber of Commerce can tell people had been missing it.
Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the vendors have consistently run out of stock before the conclusion of the allotted time, and it hasn’t been for lack of products. She notes that the market is set up differently this year due to COVID-19 concerns, which is the same reason the start date was delayed to July. “It looks a little bit different this year since we’re not in Josh Davis Plaza, but last year having started to have vendors on 2nd Street that part looks familiar. All of our vendors are required to wear facemasks and we have things set up a little bit different so that there’s still space in between booths. (We’re) just trying to keep everybody safe the best that we can.”
Pasutti adds, there will be more vendors added in the coming weeks as their produce is in season, and they’ll continue to adjust the set up as needed when that happens. The Perry farmers market is held Thursdays from 4-7 p.m. through the last week of September.
