The Jefferson City Council will meet tomorrow night.
The Council will hold three public hearings, followed by possible action for each item. The first hearing is for the upper story housing conversion application for a Community Development Block Grant through the Iowa Economic Development Authority. The second hearing is for a zoning amendment to allow for dwellings on upper stories of buildings as a permitted use. The third hearing is for the plans, specifications, form of contract and estimated cost for the Arch Alley and city hall parking lot improvement projects.
The Council will also consider approving two work orders for professional services for the airport runway extension project, review a variance for Alliant Energy, consider approval for selling property at 200 East State Street and set a public hearing. Additionally, the Council will consider accepting a $30,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES) funds, the first reading for a proposed noise ordinance, along with repair amounts for two well projects, an agreement for a monthly service contract for City Hall computers and they will discuss a policy on feral and stray cats.
