adm-7

The number one team in class 5A came to Adel on Thursday in Fort Dodge, and were barely able to hang on against a gritty Tiger comeback hanging on by the score of 5-3. Fort Dodge was able to jump out to a quick lead scoring three in the top of the first inning, and then able to tag on an extra run in both the third and fourth to take a 5-0 lead.

ADM started their comeback attempt in the fourth, scoring three in the frame with the key hit coming from freshman Aliya Yanga, who got a two run double to cut into the visitor lead. Unfortunately for the ADM offense, they were unable to find any more support against Jalen Adams, the talented pitcher for Fort Dodge that was able to record twelve strikeouts on the night.

ADM had another good pitching performance from Abbie Hlas, who only gave up two earned runs and had six strikeouts as well against one of the best teams in the entire state of Iowa. ADM will finish out their final full week of regular season tomorrow as they continue to look to finish their regular season out strongly.
