Roland-Story (Story City) and Greene County played Heart of Iowa Activities Conference baseball in Jefferson at Allensworth Field on Thursday night. It was the fourth game in as many days for the Rams, who lost 6-0 in their last home outing of the season. Coach Matt Paulsen’s team fell to 2-11 overall and in the conference, while R-S improved to 9-4 in the league and 13-8 overall.

The bats were quiet for Greene County with only two hits, a Bradyn Roberts infield hit in the third inning and a two out soft single to right in the seventh by Cameron Miller. The Rams had three errors and left five runners on base.

R-S had eight hits, two errors, and nine left. Sophomore righty Alex Behrens had four strikeouts and one walk en route to the complete game victory.

Ram sophomore Bryce Stalder took the loss after throwing the first five innings. He walked three batters and fanned seven. Sophomore Joe Carey tossed the last two innings and gave up no runs on one hit and one walk.

The Rams close the regular season on Monday, July 13 at Nevada. KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com will broadcast Monday’s game.
