We are coming up on the final two days of the Greene County Normal-ISH Fair.

The lone event on Saturday is the beef bucket calf show in the show ring at 8am. Then Sunday will be all about the Clover Kids and showing their livestock. Clover Kids is a program for 1st-3rd graders to get introduced into the 4-H program before they enter 4th grade.

Greene County Fair Board President Connor Juergensen describes the challenges they were faced with this year, considering how much COVID-19 impacted their decisions.

“It’s difficult trying to come up with a schedule to present to the other fair board members (and) get everybody on the same page. Along with that, trying to co-mingle our schedule – or our wannabe schedule – with the schedules of the 4-H’ers and their families. So it’s been tough but I think at the end of the day I think we made the right decision.”

A reminder that tonight is the free fireworks display from the grandstands at dusk. However, the public is not allowed to sit in the grandstands, due to COVID-19 concerns. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Lil’ Big Red Radio will continue to broadcast live from the fair through Sunday. You can also check out the results from the static exhibits and livestock on the Greene County Fair webpage, which can be found on the right-hand side of the homepage at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
