With the weekend almost here, the Greene County Normal-ISH Fair is picking up the action.
Tomorrow will be a busy day of livestock shows at the fairgrounds in Jefferson. The sheep show will be at 8am, followed by the beef pen of three and the herd builder judging at 9. Then at 1:30pm will be the horse fun show, followed by the goat show at 2:30. The public is still discouraged from attending any of the livestock shows, due to COVID-19 concerns, but Fair Board President Connor Juergensen says there is an event happening tonight that the public can see.
“A good way to socal distance event we thought we could do was the fireworks on Friday night. (The hired contractor) puts on a really good show and it will be really good for the community to see that.”
Juergensen reminds everyone that while the fireworks will be taking place near the grandstand, the grandstand itself will not be open for the public to watch the show. Once again, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Lil’ Big Red Radio will continue to broadcast live from the fair through Sunday.
