The Adair County Fair officially starts next week, though some static events will be happening this weekend.
On Saturday the 4-H/FFA static exhibits will be checked in during allotted times from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The clothing events will be judged from 2-6:30 p.m. on Sunday and 4:30-7 p.m. Monday, and from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m Monday youth participating in the communication event will submit video entries online. Animal and livestock shows will begin Tuesday with the dog show at the MidAmerican Energy Arena at 10 a.m. and dairy goat show at the swine show ring at 1 p.m. The bucket/bottle calf show is set for 9 a.m. Wednesday at the MidAmerican Energy Arena.
More events will be held throughout the day during the official fair dates of Thursday, July 16th through Sunday July 19th. The livestock shows will be open to the public, but the Fair Board will not be offering bleacher sitting so spectators must bring their own chairs. The 4-H/FFA Center will not be open to the public and there will not be open class or vendors in the varied industries building in order to limit point of contact during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to have the fair’s primary focus be on its youth. Public admission is $10 per adult, $5 for those ages 5-12, and age four and under are admitted free.
