It’s Heart of Iowa Activities Conference high school baseball and softball in Jefferson tonight as the Greene County teams host PCM (Monroe). The baseball is at Allensworth Field and the softball will be played at the City Diamond along E. Lincolnway. The first meetings between the two were all Mustangs with a 9-0 softball final and 8-1 baseball score.

The varsity softball game will be broadcast tonight on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage to begin shortly after 7 p.m. with first pitch around 7:30 p.m. Both teams played HOIAC doubleheaders on Monday with Class 3A number 8 North Polk sweeping the Rams in Alleman by scores of 15-0 and 10-1. PCM split two games with Gilbert on Monday and stood 4-12 on the season and 4-8 in the conference. The Rams are 2-9 overall and in the HOIAC.

PCM is 5-8 in baseball overall and 5-7 in the conference. They split two games with Gilbert on Monday, while Greene County hosted North Polk and split with the Comets, dropping a 6-4 decision in game one, then shutting out the Comets 9-0 in game two. The Rams are 2-7 overall and in the HOIAC.
