Though the Perry Public Library will remain closed for the foreseeable future due to COVID-19 concerns, there are still a few functions being offered to the community.

Library Director Mary Murphy notes that one that began at the beginning of July was the use of the public computers. She explains the process for reserving some time on the machines, as well as why she felt it was necessary to offer. “This is because I feel that this is one of the things that we can’t do curbside. So if you would like to use the computers in the library, you need to call and make an appointment. At your appointed time, you come to the front doors of the library, a person will let you in, and actually lead you to your computer and that will be your computer for 45 minutes. We have then a period of time that we clean the computers, and then the next appointment will come in.”

Murphy adds, when the library functions all move next door to the Carnegie Library Museum towards the end of this month due to the building remodel beginning, there will still be some computer access there, though only one instead of two.
