While the Panora Public Library isn’t holding any group events this summer, they are offering a service to area kids with a summer reading program.
Titled “Imagine Your Story,” the program lasts from now through August 17th, and kids in fifth grade and younger can stop by the library to pick up their reading log or call ahead and pick it up curbside. For every five books read participants will receive a prize, and Library Director Kim Finnegan says there will be a special prize for 25 books read. Finnegan shares how she feels getting to host this program as the library has had to increase facility restrictions due to COVID-19, “It’s wonderful because actually some of these kids are used to doing this program every year. So they’ve been asking and they’ve been wanting this program, so they’re very excited about it.”
The library’s current hours are Monday through Thursday from 12-4:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:30-4:30 p.m. Finnegan also advises that no children under the age of 18 are allowed in the library without a parent or guardian.
