Though Guthrie Center businesses have seen their share of hard times this year with the COVID-19 pandemic and recent downtown fire, the Guthrie Center Chamber of Commerce has much to celebrate with their 2020 membership drive.
Chamber President Kristen Crouthamel says the Chamber is currently boasting 68 members with 13 of them being newcomers to the Chamber. Crouthamel says a second mailed-out promotion of the membership drive helped garner interest, as well as community spirit, “I think during the times of COVID and then we had this fire and everything else I think a lot of business owners are realizing that we all need to support each other to stay afloat during these really weird times right now and I kind of attribute some of it to that really. Just the teamwork of being a tight knit community, and I think some of those business owners who maybe haven’t been members before are just chipping in to do their part. So we really appreciate everybody who is already Chamber members.”
A list of the Guthrie Center Chamber members is included in this story online. You can hear more about the Chamber from Crouthamel during today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program on air and at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
