The Greene County Medical Center recently announced its new Chief Financial Officer.
Chad Butterfield was appointed as the new CFO by the medical center leadership team, effective June 29th. He previously served eight years as the director of business affairs for Olathe Health Physicians in Olathe, Kansas, where he worked with 35 ambulatory locations and oversaw four clinical practices, including internal medicine, general surgery, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery. Prior to that, Butterfield was the director of finance with the Olathe Health System, where he was responsible for a $300 million annual net revenue for the health system. Additionally, Butterfield’s experience includes developing and maintaining physician contracts, clinic business operations and physician compensation models.
Butterfield earned a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and is working towards a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Saint Mary in Overland Park, Kansas. Butterfield began his career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Iowa in Des Moines, later transitioning to MercyOnes Des Moines Medical Center as a reimbursement analyst. He is married to his wife Tammy and they have two adult children.
Butterfield takes over the position that was previously held by Heather Paris, who resigned this past April to be the assistant vice president of finance at Iowa State University. Joe Corfits was then named interim CFO prior to Butterfield being hired.
Butterfield will begin his duties with the medical center in early August.
