The Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers have not had any organized activities outside of baseball and softball since March, as they haven’t been able to meet in person for off season workouts and off season practices. That all changed yesterday when the ban was lifted on organized sports activities in the state of Iowa, and ADM athletes were able to get back into the workout room.
The school district is planning to stagger the workouts, with some athletes coming in for an earlier session and other ones coming in for a later one. They will be assigned to groups and will need to avoid other groups and stay within a bubble. Obviously there are guidelines in place as well, with the ISHAA and IGHSAU releasing a joint statement of what schools need to do to keep their coaches and athletes healthy.
Each athletes will have to go through a temperature check at the front door, and will have to go through a checklist to make sure that they don’t have any symptoms. Equipment will also be sanitized after every use, and the only people allowed in the school will be coaches and student athletes, no parents will be allowed.
Athletes and coaches alike will be happy to have access to the facilities once again, and will be hoping to stay safe as they plan to play at 2020-2021 season.
