The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.
The meeting began with setting a public hearing for July 14th at 9:30 a.m. to consider a telephone line easement on the Raccoon River Valley Trail with Qwest Corporation. That was followed by approval of the hardware placement for the new courtroom project at the Dallas County Courthouse, which was reviewed and endorsed by Information Technology Director Todd Noah. Next, the Board approved a resolution to carry over budgeted dollars from the previous fiscal year to the next as assigned funds. They also had discussion but took no action on a wetland development project through the Iowa Department of Agriculture.
At 9:30 a.m. there was a public hearing on the final plat for the River Woods development near Van Meter, which was approved after there were no objections. A second public hearing was held at 10, focusing on the final plat for Grace’s Point, a three lot subdivision of agricultural land also near Van Meter. Though there were objections from one adjacent landowner based on concerns for how the land would be used, the Board approved the plat as presented because rezoning based on use was not what was being considered.
