West Central Valley High School will be holding their commencement ceremony this Sunday.
The event will take place at 2 p.m. in the high school gym, and to safeguard against COVID-19 each graduate is allotted five tickets for guests. The district will have hand sanitizer available at all the entrances to the gymnasium, and those that are most susceptible to COVID-19 are discouraged to attend. High School Principal Rusty Shockley comments on the District’s plans,
“We held pretty steadfast that we were going to have as traditional a ceremony as possible and we’ve done that within the guidelines so I think that’s important for our seniors that they have this opportunity to walk across the stage and we’ve just remained steadfast that we would give them that opportunity and we’re going to do it on Sunday.”
Attendees will have their temperature checked prior to entering the school, and anyone with a fever or showing other symptoms will not be allowed to attend.
