As Governor Kim Reynolds extended the public health emergency declaration for COVID-19, Guthrie County Public Health encourages residents to keep up the good work in helping stem the spread of the virus.

The state proclamation is set to last until July 25th, and though businesses have allowed to reopen, Guthrie County Public Health Director Jotham Arber says the virus isn’t going away anytime soon, “There are recommendations that we’ve been making from day one that are still applicable, making sure that you’re washing your hands frequently, making sure that you’re socially distancing, making sure that you’re wearing a face mask if you can’t socially distance. Those are all very helpful things when we’re looking at (a) continued pandemic for potentially the rest of this year.”

Guthrie County Public Health is also seeking donations of homemade fabric masks for its more vulnerable population. For more information, call 641-747-3972.
