The longest road trip this season for the Greene County Rams softball team resulted in a 9-0 loss, their third straight, and a 1-3 record overall and in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. Coach Tom Kennedy’s team made the long journey to Monroe to face PCM and fell 9-0, the first time the Rams have been shut out this season.
Freshman Emma Hoyle pitched five innings for Greene County and took the loss. Eighth grader Kaylee Stalder tossed one inning. Coach Kennedy reports the Rams were charged with four errors.
Greene County managed just three hits, all singles. Senior Izzy Bravard, freshman Emma Stream, and sophomore Carmyn Paup each had a base hit. The Rams are still looking for their first extra base hit of the season.
PCM scored single runs in the first and second innings. They put up five in the fourth and two in the fifth.
The Rams stay on the road tonight to meet Roland-Story in HOIAC action in Roland.
