The 3rd Annual BOOST Bash fundraiser is this weekend.

The Bringing Optimism and Opportunities to Students and Teachers (BOOST) of Greene County organization will hold their event completely online this year, due to COVID-19 concerns. BOOST Committee member Chris Deal says bidding on the 95 auction items is open now on their website. Bidding will begin to close during the Facebook Live event at 7pm on Saturday. Deal says the first two years they raised over $120,000 for teachers and they wanted to continue the success this year.

“There’s this community-wide desire to show how much we support our schools and it’s fantastic to see that that’s there and the impact of it. We have the opportunity, kind of the advantage of having this structure in place that allows us to relatively easily move into a virtual environment, and still have some sort of an event where we can say ‘Thanks,’ and also raise some funds.”

BOOST member Matt Wetrich says on their Facebook page throughout the week there will be videos of people who made donations to the auction and during their virtual event on Saturday will feature families expressing their gratitude to teachers during the pandemic, withKevin Richards and Kevin Paulsen emceeing the event.
