With COVID-19 impacting how this year’s Greene County Fair will happen, there is a new aspect for area businesses to be a part of.
The Greene County 4-H Foundation and the Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce have partnered together for the Virtual Clover Cafe. Since the Clover Cafe will be closed during the county fair this year, it is the single largest fundraiser for the 4-H Foundation. The non-profit organization provides funding for 4-H’ers to go on trips and discounts for other activities.
The Virtual Clover Cafe allows businesses to provide discounts to 4-H’ers and their families during the Greene County Fair from July 7th-13th. Businesses are encouraged to get involved by offering discounts on meals or food items during fair week and email those discount descriptions to Chamber Office Coordinator Beth Vander Wilt by this Thursday. Participating businesses will receive a Virtual Clover Cafe poster to put on display in their front windows during the week of the fair.
The goal of this campaign is to provide a “fun fair experience” and give 4-H’ers and their families places to eat during the fair, while supporting local businesses. Interested businesses can email Vander Wilt at beth@greenecountyiowa.com.
