The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

During open forum, Greene County Farmers Market Coordinator Chris Henning made a request to the Board to start holding farmers markets next month. She said the markets would be held each Tuesday from 4-6:30pm on the east side of the Greene County Courthouse. Additionally, they would continue to have fundraiser meals, provide a hand washing station, and request face masks be worn by vendors and customers, along with using the restrooms in the courthouse. The Board agreed with the request.

County Attorney Thomas Laehn mentioned working on a 28E agreement with Greene County Medical Center and public health. It is currently a contract and not a 28E agreement.

The Board then heard an update about Boone County Probation Services with Diane Hinderaker. She said as of June 1st, there were 29 individuals using the program, following their convictions of crimes and were sentenced to informal probation. She pointed out that due to COVID-19 phone call check-ins are being done instead of face-to-face meetings. The County currently pays a flat, annual fee of $8,518. The agreement automatically renews at the beginning of each fiscal year on July 1st, unless either party wants to change the agreement or be terminated from it.

The Board also approved to appropriate 85-percent of the 2021 fiscal year budget as presented. Finally, the Board approved the second pay estimate of $28,519, a change order of $14,644 of reducing expenses and scheduled a completion hearing for August 10th at 9am for a project in drainage district 191.
