We’re entering the final stretch for the Perry Pride Business Booster gift card program through the Perry Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the program has been a big success, with people taking advantage of the opportunity to purchase $30 gift cards to local businesses for just $20. She notes that the promotion will end on June 30th, so she encourages the community to get their gift cards while they can. It came about as a local economic stimulus related to the COVID-19 pandemic, which Pasutti says was only possible thanks to the City of Perry. “This all stems from getting a grant from the City back in April, and so that $100,000 is where that extra $10 comes from per purchase. So the businesses aren’t out anything, they’re able to get that full value. It’s a really nice incentive for the purchasers and a great way to support businesses. So as we come up on that 10 weeks, we will likely have some of that funding still available and we’ll move on to the next program.”

As far as what that next program might be, Pasutti says there’s some ideas in play but it will likely be set up as grants to businesses for use in modernization.
