Perry Lutheran Homes announced this week that the much anticipated St. Luke’s Private Suites skilled care community at its Willis Avenue facility has officially opened.
The nine remodeled private suites are designed to accommodate people in need of rehabilitative therapy following surgery, accident, or illness, as well as those needing skilled nursing care or long-term care. PLH CEO Reverend Max Phillips says the idea of the St. Luke’s wing is to surround patients with the whole spectrum of care, including their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. He is excited that they’ll no longer have to outsource rehabilitation for their current residents, and that they can welcome in new faces who wish to take advantage of the specialized care.
The suites include private bathrooms with a shower, as well as a walk-in closet, bed, recliner, side chair, dresser, nightstand, and mounted flat-screen TV. Virtual tours are available since the Willis Avenue facility is still closed to the public as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and reservations are currently being accepted. PLH is also planning a ribbon-cutting and public open house once community members are allowed to congregate in larger numbers.
