Entering Thursday’s baseball game against Des Moines Christian, it had been a while since Panorama had taken down the Lions.

The Lions had bested Panorama in 10 consecutive meetings, dating back to 2013. Junior Drew Taylor got the start on the bump for the Panthers and was stellar in his first start. He gave up just four hits, two runs, one earned, one walk, and eight strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings of work. Brice Taylor came in to close the game and was just as solid giving up zero hits and no runs in 1 2/3 innings of relief. The bats were also alive for the Panthers as multiple hitters recorded more than one base hit including, Evan Taylor, Luke South, Brice Taylor, and Malachi Peasley.

Panorama would go on to win 6-2 to turn the tables on a 10 game losing streak to Des Moines Christian. The Panthers improve to 2-1 after the first week of the season and will be back to work Monday when they head to Madrid.
