New Opportunities recently received feedback on a needs assessment survey.

The non-profit organization reports 322 individuals from seven counties took the survey that was seeking information to help them make future plans to help the communities they serve including Greene County. Additionally, New Opportunities of Greene County has not reported an increase in the number of individuals or families using the local food pantry since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, those that are needing assistance can take advantage of several upcoming programs with New Opportunities. They offer a five-month financial counseling class, with limited space available, and they can help people apply for the Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) which has been extended until July 1st. There are also programs for families needing help with purchasing a fan or air conditioning unit for the warmer months.
