Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center Schools recently held a fundraiser to help local frontline personnel combating COVID-19.

The Districts partnered with Sportsplex West to sell t-shirts, with $6 from each shirt sold going to Guthrie County Hospital and Clinics and Adair County Health System. ACGC physical education teacher and athletic coach Cody Matthewson says 300 shirts were sold, amounting to $942 given to both of the healthcare providers. Matthewson adds that the support shown from the Districts’ communities during times like these makes him proud to wear gold and black. GCH Foundation Liaison Kimberly Myers says this donation will go towards assisting with the needs of the hospital directly related to the pandemic, and will be forever remembered as a gold leaf plaque on the hospital’s Giving Trees display, honoring ACGC Schools, Sportsplex West, along with the business’ Co-Director of Apparel and Merchandise Nick McCool and his brother Zach who rounded up the donation to $1,000.
