The Greene County Salvation Army is seeking requests from individuals who need financial assistance.

The local organization has received an outpouring of support from residents, mostly from donations of the federal stimulus checks from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Funds can be given to those individuals who have had impacts from COVID-19 or other situations.

Suggested assistance includes food, clothing, prescription medications, housing and utility assistance, along with gift cards, haircuts, personal supplies, among others. Local Pastor Julie Poulsen says individuals needing assistance are to contact her or Greene County New Opportunities Coordinator Teresa Lansman. Requests must be made before August 1st.

Call Poulsen at 319-461-3146 or New Opportunities at 515-386-2719.
