A Wisconsin man was recently sentenced to probation for an April 2019 incident in Greene County.

According to court documents, 28-year-old Timothy Joseph Faber pled guilty to a Class D Felony for attempted escape from custody and a lesser charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for operating a motor vehicle without consent. He had a five year prison sentence for the felony and a two year prison sentence for the misdemeanor charges suspended and was placed on three years of probation for each charge, to be served consecutively.

The conviction stemmed from an April 30, 2019 incident. A Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy was notified that Faber ran a stop sign in Ogden and then stopped the vehicle at the intersection of highways 30 and 4 in Jefferson. The deputy noticed signs of Faber being under the influence of drugs, and it was discovered the vehicle was reported stolen from Story County. Faber refused to take a sobriety test and was arrested. While waiting to be booked into jail, authorities saw Faber trying to escape through the drop-ceiling of the booking room at the law enforcement center.

Court documents show the other charges, including misdemeanors for driving under the influence and criminal mischief were dismissed.
